Taylor is one of PEAK Academy’s proud co-owners and founders. She has taught grades kindergarten through seven, has public and private school teaching experience, and even taught and coached at a military boarding school! She left the classroom to work as an Instructional Coach, helping teachers refine their reading and writing craft, but after two short years, returned to working with children, her true passion!
Lacey Fickes
B.S. Human Development & Family Studies
Minor in American Sign Language
Lacey is one of PEAK Academy’s proud co-owners and founders. Her teaching story started a little late and somewhat unconventionally; she began her career as a Sign Language Interpreter for Lubbock ISD, where she interpreted for deaf and hard-of-hearing students in grades K-12. She was assigned to interpret in a kindergarten class, and her life changed forever. It was during that year that she felt called to change her plans and pursue teaching!

Stacey Holmberg
Stacey joined PEAK Academy in the fall of
2024 after retiring from public education earlier that spring. During her 32-year career, she taught first and second grade, served as an ESL teacher for students in kindergarten through fifth grade, and helped pilot a multi-age learning program at her school. Her extensive experience working with students across grade levels makes her a wonderful fit for PEAK’s personalized, mixed-age learning environment.

Courtney believes strongly in building relationships first, and is passionate about creating a classroom where students feel known, supported, and excited to learn. She loves high-energy environments and brings that same enthusiasm and encouragement into her teaching!
It all begins with an idea.
Each of our teachers and support staff come from different backgrounds, but we are united by one core idea…
We are a school that believes in the infinite potential of all children…and we put that belief into action every day.
PEAK Academy is a microschool in Richmond, Texas that provides student-centered, hands-on, project-based, and differentiated learning. We are committed to maintaining small teacher-student ratios so we can stay focused on that which is most important to us: the children we teach.
